Tailored Resumes = More Interviews: Here’s how to customize yours

Hi there,

Here’s one simple shift that can make a big difference:
Tailor your resume strategically to match the job description.

We get it—it’s tempting to send out the same resume to 20 job openings. But here’s the truth: a generic resume blends in. A tailored one stands out.

Try this approach:

Before applying, study the job description and highlight the top 3–5 keywords or skills that are repeated. Then, weave those terms naturally into:

  • Your resume headline

  • The top skills section

  • Your work experience bullets (especially your accomplishments)

Why does this work?

✔ It gets you past Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
✔ It signals to recruiters that you’ve read the job post carefully
✔ It shows alignment between their needs and your experience

Pro tip: Use the “Qualifications” or “Requirements” section of the job posting like a checklist. Reflect their language—without copying it word-for-word—and showcase how you meet those needs.

This is where you should be applying
Hi {{ first_name }}, Most people looking for remote jobs only check LinkedIn and Indeed and then wonder why they’re competing with 500 other applicants for every role. The truth is, the best opportunities aren’t always on the biggest platforms. There are job boards specifically built for remote work, places where companies that are genuinely committed to remote hiring post their roles. N...
If your resume doesn’t show this, you’re losing opportunities
Hi {{ first_name }}, I came across a resume recently that helped this candidate land a $300,000 role at Google. And before you think it was just because of big names like Microsoft or Amazon on it, yes, that helped. But that’s not the full story. Because I’ve seen plenty of candidates from top companies still get rejected. What made this resume stand out was simple: it communicated impact, c...
