What we can all learn from Amazon

Hi Super Community,

Last week, we spent over 10 hours studying Amazon’s recent layoffs and the pattern we found is eye-opening.

Here’s how the numbers look:

  • Washington: 2,303 corporate jobs eliminated at Amazon’s home base

  • California: 1,450 jobs cut, including senior product and engineering roles

  • Massachusetts and surrounding states: 5,000+ layoffs across East Coast tech teams, many with 5–10 years at the company

These numbers tell a story that’s bigger than Amazon:

  1. Layoffs are concentrated in major tech hubs like Washington, California, and Massachusetts expensive, competitive markets that often see cuts first.

  2. Corporate and engineering roles are being hit the hardest, not just retail or fulfillment.

  3. AI and efficiency initiatives are driving these reductions, and the phased rollouts suggest this is just the beginning.

For deeper insight into why Amazon is making layoffs and how you can proactively prepare yourself, read this informative article from CNN.

If you’re still employed, take this as a wake-up call.
If you’ve been impacted, take it as a reset.

Here’s what we recommend:

  • Don’t wait for a “job loss” to start your job search: stay proactive.
  • Keep your resume updated and your LinkedIn alive: visibility matters.
  • Network smart: connect with people in your industry and location, not just through broad posts.
  • Prepare for opportunities in WA, CA, and MA: but also explore less-saturated markets.

Remember, there’s no such thing as guaranteed job security anymore.
But what you can control is your preparation, visibility, and readiness.

Let’s make sure you’re not just hireable, you’re irreplaceable.

With you every step of the way,
Chintan & Shreya

This “Feedback” is a huge red flag

This is where you should be applying
Hi {{ first_name }}, Most people looking for remote jobs only check LinkedIn and Indeed and then wonder why they’re competing with 500 other applicants for every role. The truth is, the best opportunities aren’t always on the biggest platforms. There are job boards specifically built for remote work, places where companies that are genuinely committed to remote hiring post their roles. N...
If your resume doesn’t show this, you’re losing opportunities
Hi {{ first_name }}, I came across a resume recently that helped this candidate land a $300,000 role at Google. And before you think it was just because of big names like Microsoft or Amazon on it, yes, that helped. But that’s not the full story. Because I’ve seen plenty of candidates from top companies still get rejected. What made this resume stand out was simple: it communicated impact, c...
